4th International Conference on Eurasian Politics and Society, Turkey

Deadline: 1 April 2017
Open to: participants from around the world
Venue: July 1-2, 2017, at Bahariye Mevlevihanesi in Istanbul, Turkey

Description

Intellectuals have always claimed that world politics is entering a new era. Sometimes it was the end of history, sometimes it was the return of rivalries, sometimes it was  the decline of nation states, or it was the clash of civilisations. It is unequivocal to allege that transforming nature of civilisations is one of the determinants of world order. In this vein, civilisations are one of the main components of world politics and certainly there are fault lines between them. Yet, it does not mean that these fault lines will be the battle lines of the future as Huntington claims. Rather, It might undertake different functions.

From this point of view, the balance of power among civilizations has always been variable. Time to time, while the West declines, Asian civilizations rise and vice versa; while Islam comes into prominence, Christianity is secluded and vice versa, etc. Yet, world politics has always been based on civilisations. On this occasion, it is imperative to analyse the relations between civilisations and world politics and find out how they affect each other. Herein, CESRAN International has devoted itself to this issue at the 4th International Conference on Eurasian Politics & Society. Along with the theme of Civilization and World Politics, papers reading to conventional research areas of the conference are welcomed.

CESRAN International invite panel and paper proposals, relating to all aspects of humanities and social sciences on wider Eurasia, for the 4th International Conference on Eurasian Politics & Society 1-2 July 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Eligibility

The conference is also open to non-paper presenters and we would encourage participation from non-academic sectors such as civil society, private sector, national authorities and the media.
