SEVEN is a documentary play and it is based on the real life stories of seven women’s rights activists from Nigeria, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Russia, Pakistan, Northern Ireland and Cambodia. The aims of the performances are to bring women’s rights issues higher on the political and media agenda, raise awareness and engagement, and to stimulate the debate on women’s role in society. The play is presented as a reading by seven popular Azerbaijani persons who themselves represent different aspects of society.
For that reason, we invite photographers (amateur or professional), photojournalists and visual storytellers from around the world to participate in a photo contest on the topic of gender equality and women’s rights. The aim of photos will help to draw attention to some of the gender equality issues that exist in different societies. They can touch on gender issues in any way that your imagination takes you.
