Developed by Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Nancy Jazz Up! Europe is the first professional convention dedicated to artists and professionals who make and support the new wave of jazz that has emerged in recent years, catalysed in England and now spread throughout Europe – an ‘up tempo’ jazz that mixes jazz harmonies with sounds and rhythms from current music (hip hop, electronic music, rock, afrobeat or nu-soul).
Nancy Jazz Up! Europe 2022 invites applications from bands or artists, musicians, performers and composers in the field of jazz, afro-jazz, electro-jazz, hip-hop jazz, nu soul, acid jazz, jazz funk.
Selected groups or artists will perform during the Nancy Jazz Up! Europe 2022 which will take place on 5 and 6 October 2022 in Nancy, France. One participant will then be selected for a six-month programme of follow-up support.
Applicants must:
- Reside in Europe (geographical Europe, for at least half of the group, including the songwriters).
- Be 18 years old (all members of the group).
- Have a repertoire comprising at least 80% of original compositions.
- Have performed at least 10 concert dates since January 2019.
- Have already released a minimum of 3 tracks (physical or digital).
Selected applicants receive:
- Payment for each artist on stage up to 90€ net / musician (or equivalent in transfer).
- Global transport package of 100€ HT.
- Hotel (twin room 3*) for the artists.
- Meals.
