Describtion:
It is the objective of this Summer School to provide the attendees with a comprehensive overview on satellite navigation, starting from the GNSS system, its signals, the processing of the observations in a receiver and finally determining the position-navigation-time (PNT) solution. Many lab work will be carried out to get attendees really “hands-on”. In addition, lectures on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patents as well as on business aspects are given. The future of satellite systems is also discussed. Main emphasis will be put on the development of a group project using innovative ideas and covering all aspects from the idea, business plan, technical realisation till the marketing of the product or the service.
Internationally renowned scientists and specialists will give the lectures as well as the practical exercises and lab work. The program is open to graduate students (with a first university degree), Ph.D. candidates, early-stage researchers and young professional willing to broaden their knowledge. Registrations are limited to 50 participants and will be accepted on a first come / first serve principle.

The following participants can register for the ESA Summer School:
- Graduate students (more than 3 years studies)
- PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (< 38 years)
- Young engineers and professionals from industry and agencies (< 38 years)
Registration fees
Early registration fee, until May, 14 2020:
Euro 1.200,-* / Student Registration (Graduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers at universities)
Euro 2.300,-* / Company Registration (Young engineers/academics in industry and agencies)
Late registration fee, as of May, 15 2020:
Euro 1.400,-* / Student Registration (Graduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers at universities)
Euro 2.500,-* / Company Registration (Young engineers/academics in industry and agencies)
The registration fee includes participation in all lectures and demonstrations, lecture material, accommodation, full board and social events.
* VAT is applicable to companies registered in the Netherlands and Individuals. VAT is not applicable to companies which are holding an EU VAT number, International Organisations and companies located outside the EU.
The number of participants is limited to 50 - early registration is recommended (first come - first serve).
