Description

The School Enterprise Challenge is a free educational programme that teaches business and life skills. It supports teachers and students to plan and set up real businesses at their school. From coming up with your own business idea to writing a business plan and actually launching your school business, we’ll support you the whole way!

2020 was a difficult year for everyone, including schools taking part in the School Enterprise Challenge. Although some business teams were able to achieve amazing things (click here to see examples), many found it difficult to participate due to Coronavirus restrictions.

In 2021 we would like to encourage you to participate in a way that suits YOU best. Although we are all in this global pandemic together, people in different countries are experiencing the pandemic in slightly different ways. Restrictions vary from country to country and, depending on where you are, different things are possible at any given time.

Keeping School Enterprise Challenge participants safe is always our number one priority.

So, with this in mind we would like to remind you that you should ALWAYS carry out business activities in a way that is safe for your team members (students and teachers). In particular, please make sure to always adhere to guidance from your local authorities and the World Health Organisation (such as wearing face masks and keeping social distancing for example - click here for more information).

Over the coming months we will be sharing practical guidance on how each lesson in the School Enterprise Challenge can be carried out safely during the times of COVID.

For now, our guidance to you is: Stay safe, do your best and submit what you can by Sunday 21st November 2021 (you can read more about deadlines here). Everything received by this date will be considered for Certificates and Prizes.

Eligibility

  • The School Enterprise Challenge is open to all schools from all countries, including: pre-primary schools, primary schools, secondary schools and technical/vocational colleges.

Please note that universities are not eligible to take part.

Prizes

The School Enterprise Challenge programme is made up of 3 Award Levels: Bronze - Silver - Gold

All new business teams start on the Bronze Level. Once they have achieved that they can progress to the Silver Level and then once they have achieved that onto the Gold Level.

It usually takes one academic (school) year to achieve each Award Level. However, due to COVID restrictions being experienced by many schools it may take longer. All teams that meet the requirement for their level will receive official Certificate of Achievements (for the school as well as for the students and teachers involved).

You can read about each of the Award Levels in more detail here.
