HEC Calls for Applications from Teaching Faculties to Study in UK

 

For Master’s and Ph.D. teaching faculty positions at Pakistani universities, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced fully funded UK scholarships through the Commonwealth Scholarships for Commission in the UK (CSC).

HEC states that in addition to meeting CSC requirements, candidates must also be eligible for HEC in order to be considered for these scholarships. He or she must be a citizen of Pakistan or the AJ&K and a resident there permanently.

By the closing date of the HEC application portal, candidates for Ph.D. scholarships must have earned a first-class degree in the relevant postgraduate qualification (17-18 years of a master’s, MS, or MPhil degree) in the relevant field of study. The candidate’s final/terminal degree cannot be in the second or third division.

Candidates who are still awaiting results are also ineligible to apply. All applicants must submit their HAT test results. The applicant’s HAT test score must be at least 60 out of 100. For consideration, applicants who took the HAT test on or after January 1, 2022, may upload the test results to the HEC portal. Applications won’t be taken into consideration for further action if they don’t include a minimum HAT test score (60 out of 100).

Visit  https://etc.hec.gov.pk to register for the HAT test if you are one of the interested applicants who has not yet taken it. Applications for the HAT test are being accepted by ETC until October 11, 2022.

 

Candidates applying for teaching faculty must have experience working as regular or contracted permanent faculty members for at least 12 months (not as a visiting or ad hoc appointment). It is important to note that the UK Government’s Commonwealth Scholarship Programme, which is driven by goals for international development, is provided by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the UK.

Over 30,000 people have received funding from the CSC since 1960 so they can study in the UK and develop their skills, knowledge, and networks in order to meet the challenges of international development.

You must be a permanent resident of an eligible Commonwealth nation in order to apply for these scholarships, per both HEC and CSC eligibility requirements. By the beginning of the UK academic year in September 2023, he or she must be available to begin her academic studies there.
