Over a period of 6 weeks, from 9 November until 16 December, the Programme provides comprehensive training on the legal, economic and political functioning of the European Union. In addition, the Programme includes a study visit to Brussels for in-person meetings in the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European External Action Service, and other EU institutions.

Autumn 2022 Intensive Programme will offer the following mandatory courses: EU Law, EU Integration, European Political Economy, Legislative Drafting and the Rule of Law, Digitalization and e-governance, Project Management for Public Sector, and a short course in Introduction to Latvian State Structure and reform process.

Upon passing exams and completing the Programme, participants receive a certificate of Programme completion and 1.5 ECTS for each course.


Eligible countries for the Autumn 2022 session are professionals from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Palestine, Serbia, and Ukraine with at least two years of work experience in the public sector, non-governmental organisations or academia.

Eligible candidates must provide a Covid-19 vaccination certificate. In addition, be vaccinated with an EU-approved or WHO-approved vaccine: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Novavax, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Bharat Biotech.


The Programme is free of charge.

This Programme is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia and the United States Embassy - Riga, Latvia. All costs associated with the Programme are covered by Programme donors.
