Baku, Azerbaijan, 2 - 6 March 2020
We are seeking applications for 14 places reserved for students from across the South Caucasus (MA and advanced BA level) in a DAAD-funded international workshop with students from Germany to be held at Khazar University in Baku from 2 to 6 March 2020. The workshop will consist of three main blocs:
(1) an intercultural competence workshop to facilitate communication across cultural divides;
(2) a teaching bloc on the EU-Caucasus relations;
(3) a group exercise to develop scenarios for EU - South Caucasus relations in 2040.
The workshop will be led by staff from the University of Tübingen (uni-tuebingen.de/ifp/ipol) in collaboration with colleagues from Khazar University (khazar.org/en/item/138) and SeminarsSimulationsConsulting (SSC) Europe (www.ssc-europe.eu). We expect participants to be present throughout the entire duration of the workshop and to participate actively in all sessions. Participants should have an interest in EU-Caucasus relations and conflict resolution, excellent study grades in a related subject and be fluent in English. DAAD funding will cover economy class travel, accommodation and per diems within certain limits that normally will be sufficient to cover all expenses. Participants residing in Azerbaijan will receive a small per diem only. Participants will have to make their own travel arrangements and need to comply with visa regulations that apply to them. Reimbursements can only be made upon submission of appropriate receipts.
Applications should include a one-page letter of motivation, transcripts, evidence of English language skills and any other documents that you consider of relevance. Applications MUST be sent as ONE SINGLE PDF document to ipol@ifp.uni-tuebingen.de. We will ignore applications that contain more than a single file or are sent to another email address. The application deadline is 15 January 2020 noon. Any further questions should be sent to the same email address and we will try to answer them as quickly as possible.
